THE PREMIER INTERACTIVE AUDIO THINK TANK
From 1996 through 2019, Project Bar-B-Q formed a strong and supportive community of brilliant and talented technical audio professionals who were passionate about exploring and pushing the boundaries of sound and music creation, capture, delivery, and use.
Providing a unique think-tank atmosphere, Project Bar-B-Q was an annual conference that brought together a group of experts in the field of audio technology, solidified their opinions, and put to good use the combined skills of those people for the benefit of the manufacturers, developers, and consumers of audio technology products.
Because of the dynamic nature of this industry, workgroup topics were chosen by a unique brainstorming session on the conference’s first day. This approach gave all present a chance to steer the direction of the powerful BBQ Group, and to simultaneously benefit from immediate feedback and input from the other remarkable attendees. Each group tackled a problem that had been identified as one of the industry’s most important, spending two days of facilitated brainstorming to formulate its best shot at a solution. The result of this work was the annual BBQ report.
